Power Gardening Like Never Before

Technology brings new light-weight power to hand-held cordless garden tools.

The sun brightly shines, revealing Spring over-growth. Rainy days alternating with sunshine causes unbelievable growth in the Northwest. One day your yard looks clean and tidy, the next it’s in need of a cut and trim.

A sunny Saturday brings opportunity for much needed grooming. Time to bring out the big guns - string trimmer, hedge trimmer, blower. Your English yew make a nice street border but they are definitely in need of a trim. You plug in your extension cord and hedge trimmer and mosey around your dogwood, carefully laying the cord down around your prized garden plants. A variety of grasses, shrubs and ground cover are at constant risk of cord bruising and even outright plant decapitation. Snags and disconnects are a given. What should be a fast, enjoyable 30 minutes of creating perfection turns into an hour of damage control, tugs and re-plugs.

Power tools offer huge benefits for the weekend gardener. They cut maintenance time to a small percentage of what it would take with only hand-power. Unfortunately, the benefits are often reduced by power line frustrations, damage control or the shrill buzz and fumes of gas power which destroys the whole “joy of gardening” experience. If only you could cut the cord and put a cone of silence around that annoying buzz.

There is! Technology does it again. Battery powered garden tools are the new rage. Lighter. More powerful. Longer lasting. The new power and longer run time gives you the freedom and quiet to enjoy your gardening like never before.

PROS
  • No cord, easy handling.
  • No gas engine noise, noxious fumes or pull starting.
  • Less weight than gas tools.
  • Comparable price to gas powered tools.

  • More expensive than corded tools.

Cost, ease of use and power are a few of the key features to determine if cordless hand-held garden power tools are right for you. Gas tools have a slight edge in power but cost and weigh a bit more. Corded tools tend to cost and weigh the least. Cordless tools have limited operating time but have nearly the power of gas tool, have no cord and cost and weigh between corded and gas tools.

For ease of use and painless-as-possible garden chores, the new cordless tools are hard to beat.
