In 2019 Reynolds Landscaping demoed our old crumbling driveway and walkway and installed new driveway and walkway pavers, landscape lighting, and drainage. They also re-graded the yard and removed/relocated existing plants. Last month they installed a dry creek bed with large boulders and river rock. Together the projects transformed our front yard. I had a two-tier backyard that had about a 5-6 foot drop in the middle of my house, with an old unusable deck off the top section and an old concrete slab patio in the lower section. To top it off, there was no walkway between the upper and lower sections. Reynolds Landscape provided a wonderful design that included putting in fresh paver patios connected with natural stone steps.Reynolds Landscape was super responsive from first contact to final sign-off. We had big ambitions but also had a budget to work within. They did a great job communicating and adapting the plans to fit within what we could ultimately do and made us feel confident that we would get a great space. We are thrilled to have a really beautiful space that we can use for years to come. Jim and his team did an amazing job. This was a pretty massive project and they absolutely crushed it.

The scope of our project was too large to do in one year so we had the crew back the following summer to connect the new upper patio to the lower one by means of a staircase designed with the same material and a dry riverbed on the east side of our home. Jim and his crew transformed our backyard from an expanse of ugly blacktop installed by the previous owner to a visually appealing and well-designed yard and garden. All components integrated well including a new concrete driveway to maintain access to the garage, an enhanced and reconfigured rockery, a larger lawn and reconfigured access steps through the rockery, and a water feature. Plantings were also included in the contract and we enjoyed working with Leanne who advises and oversees the horticultural side. Jim has a large experience base and was able to provide us with solid advice regarding our ideas and vision for the final look. He also provided numerous references for us to review the projects he has completed. The work was started and completed within the expected time frame and his crew was diligent in causing as little disruption as possible. They were very responsive to any of our concerns and went out of their way to ensure the project went as smoothly as possible. We are very happy with the work that was done and are thoroughly enjoying our transformed backyard.

Respect, transparency, clear communication and fun – Angie's List Grade 'A'!
Despite this project being in high season for landscaping work, Jim Reynolds (company owner) was very responsive to my online inquiry, and I had an estimate appointment just a few days later. As Jim and I walked my small lot, we talked about how I wanted to use the space - not only what I wanted it to look like, but how I wanted it to feel. Jim was very knowledgeable about plants as well as hardscapes. We discussed everything from ambient environmental sounds and angles of light at different seasons to growth rates for various trees and the best plants for winter color. Jim's designer worked carefully with me on both hardscape design and plant selection. I had some fairly specific ideas about what I wanted, and she beautifully incorporated those into the design.We established a start date, and Reynolds was able to begin a couple of days early. The foreman for our project was just outstanding to work with. He was quickly responsive via email, text, or phone, and kept in contact with me at every step of the process. He kept me informed about how we were doing in terms of schedule, and how the current day's work had gone. He explained in advance what would be happening the next day. When I had a last-minute need for a tweak of the design, Jim worked closely with me and we had a resolution within hours. One day during construction I overheard Jim come by just to check in to see how things were going and if anything was needed.
That level of professionalism and engagement was what I experienced with every person on Jim's team - respect, transparency, clear communication, and fun. Truly a pleasure to work with.

We have used Reynold’s Landscaping for outdoor projects since we bought our first home in Redmond in 1996. Now we live in Woodinville, and we keep going back because not only is Jim and his team professional, personable, and easy to work with, but the quality of the work cannot be beaten! Jim has the ability to visualize the finished product during the design phase. For example, I did not think there was any way we would be able to create a “room-like feel” in our vast backyard by installing a lower flagstone patio with a stone fire pit, surrounded by beautiful beds with boulders. But that is exactly how it turned out — a gorgeous outdoor gathering spot that is well-defined but blends perfectly with the surrounding lawn and trees. He does amazing things!

The retaining wall and the fire pit are a work of art -- Jim's team did an amazing job designing it and working on it, making changes when something didn't look quite right to them, always checking in -- but their judgment was expert! Friends and family who have been over to see it and to sit around the fire pit are amazed at the work that was done. Highly recommend -- one caution, get started early, with the kind of work they do and their reputation, this company is in high demand!

Jim and his entire crew are abosolutely top-notch – Angie's List Grade 'A'!
The short version:Jim and his entire crew (office, design, and landscape/implementation) are absolutely top-notch. We did a pretty thorough overhaul of our entire yard which included new concrete patios/walkways, a boulder-strewn courtyard, and some gorgeous vegetable beds in a very non-traditional area. Throughout the entire process, we felt comfortable with Jim's knowledge, his professionalism, and his ability to direct a crew and other subs. They were on-time, on-budget and everyone we dealt with was friendly, fun, professional, and hard-working. We really can't recommend them enough, and most importantly, we trust them. I would hire Reynolds Landscape again in an instant and have been telling all my friends about their work.
Long version: My husband and I can't say enough great things about Reynolds Landscaping. We just finished a complete remodel of the interior and exterior of our home using many different contractors, and Jim's outfit was far and away the most professional, courteous, and reliable of the bunch. When we set out to have our landscaping revived we didn't know anyone in the industry. We were really taking a chance based on reviews, and we're SO glad we did.
Jim responded to our online query immediately and set up a meeting with us to talk about our needs. He was clearly knowledgeable about plants and hardscape options and suggested a lot of great ideas right off the bat. We had some definite ideas as well concerning the usability and layout of our property, and Jim listened closely and checked in with us frequently to make sure everything was on track.
They scheduled us for late August and actually started early. They were realistic with us about the timeline, and we were so appreciative of that. They stayed on time and the crew communicated with us all along the way to make sure we knew what was happening next. Speaking of the crew - the foreman was AMAZING! Clearly takes a lot of pride in his work, and he's also great about communicating changes and asking questions to make sure we were in lockstep on the design throughout the entire project. The entire crew was at our house early every single day. We truly felt like we were being made a priority. They were also all very nice and fun to talk to, and our neighbors both commented on how courteous The Reynolds' crew were in terms of parking their vehicles.
Jim was great about the budget as well - he was transparent the entire way through and really listened to us when we were explaining our priorities for the space. He never got us to try to spend more and was great at offering up alternatives or giving us the benefit of his knowledge regarding where we could likely get away with spending less.
After starting the project, it became clear that there are a ton of variables to think about when creating a beautiful landscape. Jim, Wilmer, and the crew stay very flexible and it's obvious that their experience and knowledge are critical to tackling any design challenges (while keeping in mind the timeline and priorities) that crop up while the project is underway. With the rest of the subcontractors working on my house, I felt like I had to micromanage every single move and get ahead of every single thing that could go wrong. With Jim and Wilmer I didn't have to do that. They inspired me to trust in their judgment and they made the right choice, every time, for our property.
Simply put: Jim Reynolds and his crew are good, trustworthy people doing beautiful, quality work within realistic budgets and timelines. This is a really hard combination to find and we feel really lucky to have found it in Reynolds Landscape. Keep up the great work, guys!
